I just got back from a whirlwind teaching trip, and I’m still buzzing from the energy. It’s so fun to meet new finishing friends in person.
🧵 Road Trip Recap: Teaching + Bonus Stops
This past weekend, my pal Maddie (give her a Substack follow!) and I hit the road for a finishing class at AG Needleworks in Bowling Green, KY. It was such a joyful weekend full of learning, connection, and gorgeous projects. Thank you to everyone who came out!
We had attendees from Lexington, Louisville, Nashville, and Indiana! How cool is that?! Thank you Angie for having us!
On the way, we made a few very important detours:
Cincinnati Needlepoint — Super sweet shop with tons of stitched samples and a great selection of canvases
Absolutely Needlepoint — Larger shop with a bevy of self-finishing items (wish I took pics!)
The Minted Monogram — it was such a delight to stop by, meet Cindi and see her sweet shop, get some sneak peeks, and chat about her incredible selection of acrylics (check out my tutorial for a perfect fit here or the coaster finish along here).

This is one of my favorite beginner-friendly finishes. It’s quick, it’s cute, and you’ll walk away feeling so much more confident with the basics.
We’ll walk through the whole thing together, start to finish — no need to have fancy supplies or tons of experience. Just bring your stitched canvas, finishing supplies, and a little curiosity.
