In this video, I cover adding your cording loop to the top at the gusset fabric join. This is a common shop-style finish but certainly not the only way. In our March 18 Finish Along, I’ll cover the awl method on a square/rectangle shape.

I will also be launching a full tutorial post at a later date and will highlight differences in approach.

Resources Mentioned

  • How to join cording on my YouTube

  • Here's a video on Using the Lacis (here’s a link to purchase the Lacis Cording Maker)

  • Foam

    • Layer Acid Free Foam Core: You can cut multiple layers of foam core with an Xacto knife to achieve your thickness. Secure with acid free framing tape.

    • Floral or craft foam rounds or Insulation sheets: You’ll probably need a hot knife to cut this. I don’t think these are acid free if that’s of importance to you.

  • Here’s cutting implements that I personally use and can recommend:

    • Xacto knife

    • Hot knife

    • Table top foam cutter
